Since Darwin we know death could probably be the end. Answers about a possible afterlife found in religion came under relentless pressure in the early 19th century. But the deep seated desire of humanity to control our own nature ended up in a quest to avoid the unavoidable. For this project Daan tells five documentary stories that investigate the human search to overcome his own finiteness. The themes of the storys go from occultism to science, and from a past to a possible future.
